Bobby T Ciccotti Foundation Donation

img_4029New Hartford Youth Hockey is proud to announce that for the third consecutive year we have been the recipient of $1,000 dollar donation from the Bobby Ciccotti foundation. The hard work of our high school team winning the Ciccotti tournament again last fall has made us fortunate enough to receive this donation. The Bobby Ciccotti tournament was started three years ago in Honor of Bobby Ciccotti who was a Rome Youth Hockey and RFA high School player. He was tragically killed in a motor cycle accident at a young age. His family started this tournament as a fundraiser for the foundation. One of there goals with their fundraising is to help underprivileged kids be able to afford to play sports. The HS team who wins the tournament each year is given a donation of $1,000 to give to their local youth hockey association . We have been fortunate enough to win it 3 years in a row! With that being said we have set that money aside each year for the purpose of helping anyone in need of help with registration or equipment costs. If you know of anyone who you think would need help feel free to contact me or any board member to discuss. Thank you and congratulations to our boys!! They will be looking to win it again this Thanksgiving weekend! Happy Holidays

2016-2017 Concession Stand

Thanks again for registering your children with NHYHA. Along with your registration fee you also paid $100 towards concession duties. Once you work your required 9 hrs you can fill out the following form and I will check them against the schedule and process your $100 refund. If you choose not to do your 9hrs then your money will go to a school aged kid to work hours that members do not sign up for.

Below is the link to the concession sign up sheet. Please email me with any questions or if you need to cancel a slot you sign up for. Thanks for your cooperation and see everyone at the rink. Go NH!

2016-2017 Learn to Skate (LTS) & Learn to Play (LTP) Program Description

For all interested hockey families with children ages 3-8 years old,

New Hartford Youth Hockey will again this season be fielding Learn to Skate (LTS), Learn to Play (LTP) and Mite groups. Registration for all 3 groups is available on our website:  www.newhartfordyouthhockey.com.  In person registration for the Learn to Skate group will take place on 10/7 at 5:30pm in the lobby of the new Hartford Rec Center (1 hr prior to the first Learn to Skate practice at 6:30pm). Please register online if possible, this process is much easier than registering in person.

If you are unsure of which to sign your child up for please feel free to call Chris Moran at 315-404-4737.   Here is a breakdown of what each program has to offer:

  • LTS is for the first time skaters looking for a basic introduction to skating with a hockey atmosphere. Typical ages are 3-5 yrs old.
  • LTP is for the skater who has done at least 1 yr LTS and is looking to get into a little more advanced skating and hockey atmosphere. LTP still has a big focus on skating with stick and puck introduced. Typical age 4-6. Our LTP program will be developed from our upper end of interested learn to skate players and kids who aren’t quite ready for mites. We will be fielding LTP but not until a few weeks into the season. It is suggested that if you think you have an LTP player to register and skate with the mite program the first few weeks of the season to see where your child fits in.
  • Mites is for the more advanced skaters who have had a few yrs of LTS or LTP behind them. Game play is introduced at this level. Typical age 6-8

Any of these age suggestions can change subject to experience. Please feel free to call or email with any questions. Email is [email protected]

Thank You

NHYHA Mites

For those of you going to the comets and those who are wondering about the status of NHYHA mite program:
I am not sure what you all have been told but New Hartford is still having a mite program. We have coaches in place and ice available. Yes I have had numerous release requests however we still plan on having mite teams here in NH. If things don’t work out in Utica there is no problem with anyone coming back to NH. I wish everyone luck and as always the door is still open here. Feel free to pass this along to anyone else in the program. Thanks

2016-2017 NHYHA Registration

Dear fellow NHYHA Members:

I personally would like to welcome all newcomers to NHYHA as well as our long standing returning members. I am happy to announce another year of no increases for your registration rates. This becomes difficult to do year after year as our ice costs increase around 2% each year. Without all of your hard work at the tournaments, golf tournament, concession stand and whatever other fundraising you work hard at we would not be able to keep rates the same. So keep up the good work. 2016-2017 brings about some challenges,as we all know the comets organization has become a big name in this area. They have formed some teams that have taken kids away from not only us but other local organizations that players called home. This year the comets embark on their first season as a tier 1 organization.  We as a board had talks with Rob Esche about combining forces but in the end the board decided it wasn’t right at this time. We wish them luck! Here in NH we pride ourselves on: reasonable rates, good coaching, and a playing atmosphere that is very competitive but fun at the same time. We are a small organization that in the end is trying to get kids to one day play for their own High School teams. This season we will again be having LTS, mites, 2 pee wee teams, bantam team and a 16u midget team.  Registration will be the same as last year all online. Don’t forget to get your new USA hockey number before registering. All registration info and links can be found on our web site newhartfordyouthhockey.com

Once again welcome and thanks for choosing new Hartford youth hockey. Good luck this season. Any questions feel free to email me or call or text at 404-4737.
